Theodoros V. Stamatopoulos

He holds a PhD in International Economics from the University of Piraeus, a Master of Science (D.E.A.) in International Economics and Finance from the University of Aix-Marseille, France, and a Bachelor’s in Economics from the Athens University of Economics and Business. He is currently Professor at the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU), Crete, Hellas.
His research interests are with International, European, Applied and Political Economics as well as Economic Thought or Philosophy of Economics.
He has publications in international academic journals or collective volumes, or he participates with scientific announcements in international conferences, while, he's invited by academic editors of international journals, volumes or conferences to act as a reviewer of academic papers. He is co-author in two textbooks for International Economics (1998) and Applied Statistics (1996) by Stamoulis editions in Athens.
He’s member of scientific organizations (e.g., IAES, HDCA) and he was Research Fellow of the Centre de Recherche en Développement Economique et Finance Internationale (DEFI/GREQAM), Aix-Marseille School of Economics (AMSE), Aix-Marseille University, France.
He is the founder of the Graduate Program (MSc) in Accounting and Auditing, in Accounting Dept. of the School of Management and Economics, of HMU, in October 2009, and its elected Director until the end of acad. year 2015-'16. He managed to tranform the program into an inter-institutional one with the homologue dept. of the University of Macedonia (Thessaloniki) since the acad. year 2018-'19. He’s also elected as Chairman of Accounting Dept. (9/2010-8/2013). He planed, organized and applied the merge of the Accounting Dept. with the Finance and Insurance Dept. composing the “Accounting and Finance” dept., since 9/2013, in which he served as chairman until the end of acad. year 2014-'15.
